If you are in a band and have been slaving away for years to try to make it big (or at least not a money suck), here's your daily reminder that life isn't fair. Writer-director-actor Edward Burns is in a band, too, and they have opened for Coldplay at Madison Square Garden. Here's why, Burns explained on Tuesday's Tonight Show: He and some pals came up with a song, Burns snuck it onto the soundtrack of one of his movies, that was enough to get them some bar gigs in the Hamptons, and Chris Martin happened to see them one night and then attend Burns' 40th birthday party.
