A 24-year-old man died onboard an Aer Lingus flight headed to Dublin, Irish police said.
About halfway through the Sunday night flight from Lisbon, the man became agitated, RTE reports, and attempted to bite a fellow passenger. He was restrained, then became unwell and lost consciousness. The captain diverted the plane to Cork due to a "medical emergency," and the man was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.
RTE reports the man was flying by himself, and isn't believed to be Irish; it's possible he was studying in Ireland. One man was injured during the flight and was taken to a hospital, and 170 passengers and crew members were interviewed by authorities before boarding buses for Dublin.
