Adele and James Corden sing, discuss battling Taylor Swift, in 'carpool karaoke'

James Corden sounds like he is auditioning to become a backup singer for Adele at the beginning of his latest installment of "carpool karaoke," released online early Thursday. By the end of the 15-minute Late Late Show clip, he made it clear he actually wants to be Adele's "hype man," rising onto the stage during her upbeat numbers. In between, Adele spilled tea on her coat, talked about how she recently got drunk three nights in a row, disclosed that she played drums on her hit "Hello" ("That's what I've always said, that you are the female Phil Collins," Corden said), shared the first person who broke her heart (Geri Halliwell, from the Spice Girls, when she left the group), and discussed how her squad, if she had one, would fare in a fight against Taylor Swift's (Corden suggests Adele's squad include Beyonce, Jennifer Lawrence, and Amy Schumer, plus Emma Stone).
Adele and Corden, driving around London, also sang plenty of Adele songs, plus a few from other artists. If you've ever wanted to hear Adele sing Spice Girls hits or rap along to Nicki Minaj — or, really, just drive around and act like a regular person (with a powerful voice) — watch below. Peter Weber
