Former New York Gov. George Pataki endorses Marco Rubio

Former New York Gov. George Pataki announced Tuesday that he is endorsing Marco Rubio for president. Pataki made his announcement on Fox News, where he told Martha MacCallum that, "[Rubio] understands this country. He will do extremely well as the campaign winds down... He has the staying power to win the election." Pataki also shared his support on Twitter:
Pataki ran his own short-lived presidential bid, which collapsed in late December.
The Iowa caucus is five days away. Rubio holds about 12 percent support in the state, behind Donald Trump and Ted Cruz.
