Former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum (R) will reportedly announce he is suspending his presidential campaign Wednesday evening, according to two anonymous Republican sources who spoke with CNN.

2016 was a vastly different campaign for Santorum, who just four years ago emerged as the GOP winner of the Iowa caucus. At the Iowa caucus on Monday, however, Santorum received only 1 percent of GOP support with 1,783 votes. At one location, his own precinct chairman didn't vote for him.
