Larry David is hosting Saturday Night Live this weekend, and he's almost definitely reprising his Bernie Sanders impersonation. Like Tina Fey and Sarah Palin, "sometimes people have the exact right look," SNL head writer and "Weekend Update" anchor Colin Jost told Seth Meyers on Thursday's Late Night, "and for Larry David, I think by the time Lorne [Michaels] called him about doing it, when Larry picked up the phone, he was like, 'So, we doing this?" No explanation needed."
Jost also argued that David's impersonation is making Americans more comfortable with the professed democratic socialist from Vermont. "I think he's helped Bernie," he said. "Larry's so likable, you know, that it makes — you know, in a crazy, curmudgeon way — that he makes Bernie... you're like, 'Oh yeah, Bernie Sanders. I've always liked Bernie. I liked him in Curbed. He was great.'" Meyers moved on and asked Jost what he thought about Donald Trump's loss in Iowa, and Jost, surprisingly, didn't think it made Trump a loser. Watch below. Peter Weber
