Mitt Romney slams Trump on all fronts: 'His promises are worthless'

Mitt Romney warned Thursday in a speech on the state of the 2016 race that if Donald Trump becomes the Republican nominee, "the prospects for a safe and prosperous future are greatly diminished."
The 2012 Republican presidential nominee ran through a long list of reasons Trump is not fit for the presidency, including his "absurd third-grade theatrics," the fact that he is "very, very not smart" on foreign policy, and his belief that Trump's nomination would essentially ensure a Hillary Clinton presidency.
"Donald Trump is a phony, a fraud," Romney said, going on to drop a reference to one of Trump's latest failed business ventures: "His promises are as worthless as a degree from Trump University."
