Four victims of the Brussels bombings died in the hospital overnight Sunday, according to the Belgian health minister, bringing the total number of casualties to 35. At least four of the victims have been confirmed by the State Department to be Americans.
The dead and missing come from at least 40 different countries, making identifying the victims incredibly complicated for Belgian authorities, who rely on biometric data such as X-rays, dental records, and DNA. Fifteen airport attack victims and 13 metro attack victims have so far been identified.
On Monday, Belgian authorities renewed their plea for information about the "man in white" seen in surveillance footage with two of the suicide airport bombers. Key suspects in the attacks are assumed to still be on the run.
