Stephen Colbert pours a little cold New York water on Cruz's 'Ted-mentum'

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) got a boost when he won the Wisconsin primary on Tuesday, Stephen Colbert said on Thursday's Late Show. "But his Ted-mentum may be short-lived, because the campaign has moved to New York, where Cruz has gotten in trouble for criticizing 'New York values.'" For an example of the frigid New York welcome Cruz has received, Colbert held up a copy of that morning's New York Daily News. And although Cruz is getting more endorsements now, they aren't much less tepid.
Colbert had some fun with Cruz's third endorsement (kind of) from a fellow senator, Jim Risch (R-Idaho), on CNN. When Wolf Blitzer said that Risch's statement that Cruz is the only realistic Republican choice left counted as an endorsement, Risch appeared surprised, saying he guessed it depends on what you mean by endorsement. "Yeah, it depends on your definition," Colbert said. "'Endorsement' means throwing up in your mouth a bit, right?" This year? Maybe. Watch below. Peter Weber
