Stephen Colbert interviews Cartoon Donald Trump about the GOP convention, beating Ted Cruz

Stephen Colbert interviews Cartoon Donald Trump after New York victory

The Republican race for delegates has become "a cartoonish farce," Stephen Colbert said on Wednesday's Late Show. "For more on that, please welcome back Cartoon Donald Trump." Cartoon Trump was excited about his win in Tuesday night's New York GOP primary. "Hello, New York, bow before me, you've made me your emperor," Cartoon Trump said. "Whooooo!"

Colbert asked about the real Trump's pledge to bring "a touch of showbiz" to the Republican convention in Cleveland, and Cartoon Trump laid out an elaborate plan to coat the entire city (and its people) in gold, ride in on a chariot followed by showgirls dressed as Lady Liberty, take his throne, and announce his running mate, Optimus Prime (he is a cartoon, remember). Given Colbert's reaction to Cartoon Trump's outrageous one-liners, it's not clear he gets the full script beforehand. You can laugh along with him in the video below. Peter Weber
