Well here's the least surprising news ever: After Hillary Clinton's historic presumptive nomination on Tuesday night, Democratic strategist Laura Olin tweeted emoji art celebrating the moment — and then men almost instantly claimed credit for creating it.
"They apparently had zero appreciation of the irony. Honestly I think it's a wider anthropological sign of what the internet is like now and I'm resigned to that — but the white men appropriating it last night of all nights was a bit too much for me," Olin told The Washington Post.
On Twitter, Olin agreed that there were "minds-thinking-alike-ing" versions of the meme, like this one from Judd Legum:

"Do you bros not see the irony here," Olin tweeted. But, she added, "It's fine, just another sign that we need more women in charge because men appear to have run out of all original ideas."
