Arianna Huffington, the founder and editor-in-chief of The Huffington Post, announced Thursday that she is stepping down from the media organization to run her new project, Thrive Global.
Huffington's new start-up "will focus on educational workshops, e-courses, and certifications to help companies improve the well-being of their employees," CNBC reports. Huffington recently published the health and wellness books Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and Wonder and The Sleep Revolution, perhaps indicating her growing involvement in the topics.
The Huffington Post was founded in 2005; it was sold to AOL for $315 million in 2011, and is now owned by Verizon.
