At least one security guard was killed early Friday after four would-be suicide bombers attacked a Christian neighborhood in northwestern Pakistan, an army spokesman said.
The neighborhood is near Warsak Dam, 12 miles northwest of Peshawar. The Pakistani military's information wing released a statement saying the attackers wore suicide vests and were carrying firearms. They were killed while exchanging fire with security guards, the military said, and at least two civilian security guards, a policeman, and two soldiers were wounded. An official told Reuters it's possible the attackers might have been trying to get into a nearby security installation.
