Trump appeals to evangelicals, quotes Bible verse at Values Voter Summit

Republican nominee Donald Trump spoke at the Values Voter Summit in Washington, D.C., on Friday, and he took the opportunity to make his case to evangelical voters at the annual gathering of social conservatives. During his remarks, Trump quoted a Bible verse that he said he "often" reads:
Additionally, Trump said his time spent campaigning in evangelical communities during the primaries was "one of the greatest privileges of my journey," reminding the room that while many questioned whether the candidate of three wives, several affairs, and a casino empire could appeal to religious voters, he "got the evangelicals." A CNN/ORC poll released earlier this week showed Trump and running mate Mike Pence, who was also scheduled to speak at the Values Voter Summit, leading the Hillary Clinton-Tim Kaine ticket among white evangelicals with 73 percent support.
