Tulsa police officer Betty Shelby turned herself in early Friday for the shooting death of 40-year-old Terence Crutcher in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On Thursday, Shelby, 42, was charged with first-degree manslaughter for the incident on Sept. 16, during which Shelby fatally shot Crutcher after approaching him on a main road outside his stalled SUV. After reviewing footage that indicated Crutcher, an unarmed black man, had his hands up when he was shot, District Attorney Steve Kunzweiler determined Shelby "reacted unreasonably."

Shelby was booked in the Tulsa County jail at 1:11 a.m. and released 20 minutes later, after posting $50,000 bond. If convicted, she could face at least four years in prison.
