This new House of Cards trailer is full of subtle rebukes of Kevin Spacey and 'the reign of the middle-aged white man'

Kevin Spacey's career is dead, and so is his House of Cards character.

On Thursday, Netflix released the first trailer for its final House of Cards season, giving us a glimpse into a post-Frank Underwood White House. This is the longest clip we've seen since multiple people accused House of Cards star Kevin Spacey of sexual misconduct, and it doesn't shy away from Spacey's disappearance from the show.

In a teaser earlier this month, Netflix made it clear Spacey's character, President Frank Underwood, was dead. And in this new trailer, Claire Underwood, Frank's widow played by Robin Wright, is doing a very good job of faking her way through the grieving process. She's taken over the presidency, implores Americans not to believe "whatever Francis told you the last five years," and makes it very clear that she is "not going to be told what to do anymore."

As Claire Underwood puts it, "the reign of the middle-aged white man is over." Take a peak into the new world order below. Kathryn Krawczyk
