Liam Neeson and Russell Crowe's heartwarming horse stories will brighten your day
Liam Neeson and Russell Crowe have a lot in common. They're both good at showing off intense facial expressions on darkly colored movie posters. They've both starred in questionable versions of Les Miserables. And they both believe in horses' outstanding brain capacity.
In a Page Six interview published Monday, Neeson discussed his role in the forthcoming Netflix western The Ballad of Buster Scruggs. Most delightfully, Neeson shared one "odd" anecdote from his time on set: "The horse who pulls my wagon knew me." Here, let the man explain:
You won't believe it. I'm saying this horse knew me. He actually remembered me from another Western we made a while back. I love animals. When we worked together before I took special care of him. I fed him treats. Gave him apples.
That might seem questionable to anyone who isn't a certified horse girl — or a fellow leading horse man. But no, this Hollywood horse really "whinnied when he saw me. And pawed the ground," Neeson told Page Six. Crowe certainly believes him, and backed him up by sharing his own tale:
