The White House has released a statement after explosive devices were intercepted on their way to former President Barack Obama and others.
White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Wednesday condemned the attempted attacks, calling the acts "despicable" and pledging that "anyone responsible will be held accountable to the fullest extent of the law," The Washington Post's Josh Dawsey reported. She also called the perpetrators "cowards" and said the U.S. Secret Service will take "appropriate action" after completing its investigation.
The Secret Service said Wednesday that explosive devices were intercepted on their way to former President Obama, as well as former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, The New York Times reported. These devices were reportedly similar to the one sent Monday to billionaire George Soros.
