Trump is posting Game of Thrones memes now
President Trump is now unveiling major foreign policy decisions to his Twitter followers in meme form.
Trump on Friday tweeted out an image of himself with the words "Sanctions Are Coming" written in the Game of Thrones font and the date "November 5" below. He's referencing the fact that the United States on Friday said that sanctions against Iran lifted by President Barack Obama as part of the 2015 nuclear deal would be reinstated Monday.
"Winter is Coming" is a quote from Game of Thrones, the hit HBO series based on the books by George R.R. Martin, who has compared one of the story's villains, a spoiled brat king, to Trump.

Although the Iran sanctions were discussed by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo earlier in the day, this meme was the first time Trump made mention of it on his Twitter account Friday, which is certainly a unique way to communicate a serious foreign policy issue to one's 55 million followers. As the meme suggests, the sanctions are to go into effect on Nov. 5, although if Trump really is using Game of Thrones as a model, they'll probably just be continuously delayed for years and never be released at all.
