Curb Your Enthusiasm's Bob Einstein dies at 76


Comedian Bob Einstein, who starred on HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm and created the character "Super Dave Osborne," has died at age 76.
Einstein died at his California home Wednesday after being diagnosed with cancer, Deadline reports.
The late comedian was known in recent years for his role on HBO's Curb Your Enthusiasm, in which he portrayed Marty Funkhouser, Larry David's friend who he always managed to offend in increasingly ridiculous ways. He starred as Funkhouser as recently as 2017. Einstein also portrayed a stuntman known as "Super Dave Osborne" on a variety of shows including the comedy sketch series Super Dave, which aired from 1987 through 1991.

Outside of his acting roles roles, Einstein was also a writer who won two Emmys for his work on series like The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour. He also appeared on Jerry Seinfeld's talk show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee and was one of only two people to guest on more than one episode.
Einstein's brother, actor Albert Brooks, paid tribute to him on Wednesday, tweeting, "R.I.P. My dear brother Bob Einstein. A great brother, father and husband. A brilliantly funny man. You will be missed forever."
