A wall and a fence are two slightly different things.
President Trump was very adamant about that fact a few years ago, calling out then-GOP presidential candidate Jeb Bush for mocking his border wall promise.
Hop forward a few years to Friday's press conference about the ongoing government shutdown, and Trump has a different tone. It could be "a wall, a fence, or anything the Democrats need to call it," Trump said of his newly suggested "steel slats," adding that he's "not into names." Kathryn Krawczyk
