Jeff Bridges looks set to tie the Super Bowl together by returning as The Dude.
The actor on Thursday teased the return of his iconic character from the classic Coen Brothers film The Big Lebowski, posting a 15-second video of himself dressed as the lovable slacker on Twitter. "Can't be living in the past, man," Bridges writes. "Stay tuned."
While Bridges didn't specify what the video is connected to, it's almost certainly a Super Bowl ad, considering the date of the game, Feb. 3, appears in text at the end of the teaser. This would only be the latest example of an actor reviving one of their iconic characters for a commercial, such as when Matthew Broderick starred in a Ferris Bueller's Day Off-style Super Bowl commercial for Honda or when Macaulay Culkin returned as Kevin McCallister in an ad for Google in December. Of course, there are those who look down on ads like these as cynical manipulations of viewers' fondness over genuine works of art in order to sell unrelated products, but to those who say that, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
