President Trump announced on Twitter Thursday night that he will nominate U.S. Treasurer Jovita Carranza to replace Linda McMahon as leader of the Small Business Administration.

"Jovita was a great Treasurer of the United States — and I look forward to her joining my Cabinet!" he tweeted. The Small Business Administration was created in 1953, and says its purpose is to "aid, counsel, assist, and protect the interests of small business concerns, to preserve free competitive enterprise, and to maintain and strengthen the overall economy of our nation." Carranza served as deputy administrator for the SBA during the George W. Bush administration.
