Sonic has a disturbing set of human-looking teeth in the first Sonic the Hedgehog trailer

The Sonic the Hedgehog rollout just keeps getting weirder.
The film's first trailer made its debut on Tuesday, showing off even more of the new Sonic after photos of his design previously left fans downright disturbed. The filmmakers are going for a realistic look with this live-action and CGI hybrid film, which means Sonic not only has weirdly human-looking calves but now also disturbingly realistic human teeth. Try getting that shot of Sonic with his mouth wide open out of your head anytime soon.
In another odd choice, the whole trailer is set to "Gangsta's Paradise" of all songs, which Sonic himself listens to as he runs.

The trailer also gives us a look at Jim Carrey's villainous Dr. Robotnik. Carrey looks to be delivering an appropriately over-the-top performance straight out of Ace Ventura or The Mask, complete with that glorious Robotnik mustache.
Sonic the Hedgehog is being released by Paramount Pictures and hits theaters on November 8. Watch the trailer — if you dare — below. Brendan Morrow
