Disney's Star Wars land reservations are open, and going fast

Star Wars enthusiasts worldwide are finally getting a taste of a galaxy far, far away, but the wait may take a few light years.
On Thursday, Disneyland began accepting online reservations to experience the park's much-awaited Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge expansion and lines are already forming to snag a spot in the Millennium Falcon. The intergalactic theme park officially opens on May 31 and will feature two rides, four eateries, one spaced-theme cantina and five retail shops, reports the Los Angeles Times.
For those attempting to experience the park firsthand, Disney outlined several steps for a smooth reservation. For everyone visiting Star Wars land through June 23, a reservation in one of the Disneyland hotels is mandatory — all Paradise Pier, Grand California and Disneyland Hotel bookings between May 31 and June 23 will automatically include Galaxy's Edge admission. Although hundreds of Star Wars aficionados have already guaranteed their spot, rooms are still available at a minimum of $500 a night, reports USA Today.

In order to make a reservation, a Disney account is required and multiple accounts are recommended to increase booking odds. Picking multiple dates and specific time slots prior to the reservation is also advised as Disney will have a four-hour time limit for the first visitors.
For those looking to avoid the stress and chaos, it is recommended to visit the park after June 24 (and even later in the year) when hotel reservations will no longer be required to visit Galaxy's Edge. After the initial three-week period, Disneyland will adopt a virtual queuing system very similar to their already-successful FastPass, allowing visitors to come and go as they wish.
