Timothée Chalamet hated his haircut for The King

Timothée Chalamet's high-wattage star power hangs on more than a few factors, including his penchant for casually slipping into French whenever he feels like speaking it. But one undeniable aspect of his meteoric rise — his shaggy, well-coiffed dark curls — was shaped into an unflattering bowl cut for Netflix's The King, sending his fans into a day of mourning.

As it turns out, Chalamet shared their concerns: "He loved his hair," says The King's hair stylist Alessandro Bertolazzi. "Sometimes it seemed his hair was more important than himself. I don't know if he wanted to cry or kill me in the beginning." Chalamet's concern over his "emo" look was understandable — but in the movie business, directors get to choose the final cut.
