The House Judiciary Committee has officially released the articles of impeachment against President Trump.

Democrats unveiled the articles of impeachment against Trump on Tuesday, saying he abused the power of his office and obstructed Congress. The president "solicited the interference of a foreign government, Ukraine, in the 2020 United States presidential election," the resolution says, and therefore "used the powers of the presidency in a manner that compromised the national security of the United States and undermined the integrity of the United States democratic process."

Though former Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report isn't referenced specifically, the text does say that Trump's actions "were consistent" with his "previous invitations of foreign interference in United States elections." The second article says Trump "abused the powers of his high office" by obstructing the House of Representatives' investigation, and that this was also "consistent" with his "previous efforts to undermine" investigations.

Both articles state that Trump should be impeached, removed from office, and disqualified from holding public office in the future. The White House on Tuesday said Trump will "address these false charges in the Senate and expects to be fully exonerated, because he did nothing wrong."
