These photos of Iran's missile launches are all years old — and some aren't even from Iran

As tensions escalate between the U.S. and Iran, BuzzFeed News' Jane Lytvynenko has been monitoring social media to track down disinformation spreading via unverified accounts and even legitimate news sites. Here are some photos she's found that are being passed off as from both the U.S. and Iran's missile strikes, but are actually years old, from other countries, and even from video games.
Lytvynenko also rounded up photos that purport to prove a Ukrainian airline plane that crashed Tuesday night was shot down by Iran — something that is completely unverified. Find Lytvynenko's whole thread from last night here, and one debunking misinformation from the U.S. strike on Iranian general Qassem Soleimani here.
