Dozens dead in Bangladesh ferry disaster

At least 39 people died Sunday after a ferry crossing the river Padma in Bangladesh struck a cargo ship and sank. The ferry was carrying an estimated 140 people when it went down, though rescuers have yet to provide an official tally. Some reports pegged the initial death toll as high as 48, and the final body count could change once divers finish searching the submerged ship.
