Donald Trump obliterates his 'ceiling,' seizes near majority of GOP voters in new national poll
The Donald Trump situation has just gotten much more harrowing for some Republicans. According to CNN's political director David Chalian, the results of the network's latest poll show that "all that talk about Donald Trump's 'ceiling' can now be put to an end."
Here are the actual numbers: Trump has nearly a majority of support nationwide among GOPers, with 49 percent of respondents rallying behind him. Marco Rubio trails by more than 30 points with only 16 percent support, Ted Cruz with 15 percent, Ben Carson with 10 percent, and John Kasich with 6 percent.
"We are seeing Republican Party leadership, Republican Party establishment, really starting to become more concerned than I have ever seen about the party's very existence going forward if Donald Trump is the nominee," Chailan said.
