Lindsey Graham swallows the fact that Ted Cruz may be the GOP's best hope
Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) certainly isn't a fan of colleague Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), but he admitted on Super Tuesday that he's thinking about embracing him anyway. "Ted Cruz is not my favorite by any means," Graham said in a CBS interview late Tuesday night. "But we may be in a position where we have to rally around Ted Cruz as the only way to stop Donald Trump."
Even though Graham is hoping Cruz defeats Trump, he knows the chances aren't high. "Short of a major scandal, probably not," Graham said about Cruz's odds of taking down the Republican frontrunner. As for Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), Graham predicted his campaign will end if he loses his home state. "If Marco doesn't win Florida, I don't know how he goes forward," Graham said.
If neither Cruz nor Rubio picks up the slack, Graham seems pretty sure of what's going to happen. "Senator, you seem to be saying that Hillary Clinton will beat Donald Trump," CBS host Charlie Rose said to Graham. "No, I'm not [seeming] to say that," Graham responded. "I am saying that."
