Jeb Bush's brother just joined the Cruz campaign
With older brother Jeb Bush out of the race, Neil Bush has thrown his support behind another Republican candidate: Sen. Ted Cruz. The Texas senator confirmed Tuesday that the brother to both Jeb Bush and former President George W. Bush and son of former President George H.W. Bush is joining his national finance team. Neil Bush's wife, Maria, will also join the team.
Neil Bush is one of Cruz's 13 new finance team members who joined his campaign after initially backing another GOP candidate. The news comes as the Republican Party scrambles to unite behind a single candidate in an effort to defeat current frontrunner Donald Trump and as Sen. Marco Rubio — Jeb Bush's protégé — faces a key test in the upcoming GOP primary in his home state of Florida.
Neither Jeb Bush nor George W. Bush have made an endorsement in the presidential race yet, though George W. Bush did say at a private fundraiser last summer that he isn't a fan of Cruz. "I just don't like the guy," he reportedly said.
