The Donald J. Trump Foundation has been ordered to immediately stop fundraising after the New York attorney general's office determined Donald Trump's eponymous charitable organization had been soliciting donations without certification, The Washington Post reports.

The cease and desist was sent to the foundation Friday. In New York state, registration is required for charities that solicit more than $25,000 a year from the public; the foundation has spent 2016 aggressively fundraising for veterans' groups.
