Clinton is within the margin of error of Trump in Texas. TEXAS!
No one ever said this election was going to make sense. The latest poll out of Texas shows Donald Trump leading by just three points on Hillary Clinton. In other words, the Democratic nominee is within the margin of error of the Republican nominee. In Texas.
The survey, released Tuesday by the University of Houston's Hobby School of Public Affairs, put Trump at 41 percent over Clinton's 38 percent with 1,000 registered voters polled between Oct. 7-15 and a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percent. Sixteen percent of respondents were either undecided or refused to answer, and less than 5 percent picked either Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson or Green Party candidate Jill Stein.
“With such a close margin, the key question will be which candidate can actually get their supporters to the polls over the next three weeks," said Richard Murray, the director of the Hobby School's Survey Research Institute.

A Washington Post-SurveyMonkey poll released Tuesday also shows Texas as a toss-up, with Trump up only 2 points on Clinton. In the RealClearPolitics average between Sept. 1 and Oct. 12, Trump led 43 percent to 37 percent in Texas; Clinton aims to launch an ad in the state in the coming days.
