Body pulled from the Serpentine in Hyde Park
Police say the death is being treated as unexplained

A man’s body has been found in the Serpentine in London’s Hyde Park, prompting a police investigation.
Emergency service crews were called to the park at 5.43am on Monday morning. A Metropolitan Police statement said the death was being treated as unexplained.
A police cordon was in place until the following morning, My London reports.

A spokesman for the London Ambulance Service, which was also on the scene, said: “We were called at 5.51am today (March 25) to reports of a person in the water at Hyde Park, central London.
“We sent an ambulance crew, two medics in fast response cars, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer to the scene. The first paramedic arrived in less than seven minutes.
“Sadly the patient died at the scene.”
A police spokesperson said that enquiries would continue over the incident as it’s unclear how the man ended up in the water.

The 40-acre recreational lake is based in the heart of the park in London’s West End. It’s mostly used by tourists renting pedalos and rowing boats.
