Time flies: A vintage-inspired watch from Bremont and Boeing

Both pioneers in their respective fields, Bremont and Boeing's focus on the highly technical and innovative makes them natural bedfellows. Combined with the watchmaker's personal passion for aviation, deeply rooted in founders Nick and Giles English's love of vintage aircraft, it's little surprise the ongoing collaboration between the two goes far beyond the sterile corporate partnerships seen all too often today.

This year sees a century since the birth of Boeing and to celebrate, Bremont has released the Boeing 100, a heritage-inspired timepiece limited to 300 units and packed with clever details. The colour of the dial is based on "Boeing Brown", often used in the cockpits of the company's older aircraft, lending it a distinctly vintage feel. However, despite appearances, the watch makes use of some of the most up-to-date technology: the case is constructed from Boeing aviation-grade Ti 6-4 titanium, used in airframes and engine components within the aerospace industry, while carbon fibre composite from the Dreamliner flying testbed ZA004 – which tested features on the aircraft such as aerodynamics and speed – is incorporated into the crown.
