A British man who threw away an old computer hard drive realized later that it was loaded with $7.5 million worth of Bitcoins. James Howells, 28, accumulated 7,500 Bitcoins in 2009, when the online currency was worth almost nothing, and soon forgot about them. During a cleanup this summer, he tossed out a hard drive containing the digital key needed to unlock his stash, and only realized his mistake when the value of a single Bitcoin hit $1,000 last month. Howells rushed to the local landfill, but was told his hard drive was buried under a mountain of garbage. “I’m just resigned to never being able to find it,” he said.

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux’s relationship has come under strain since the actress moved her 80-year-old dad and his wife into their Bel-Air mansion, says the National Enquirer. Theroux is “steaming mad” about the move, said a source, and thinks it will be “a huge ‘buzzkill’” on their love life. Aniston’s father is already pestering Theroux “about when he’s going to marry Jen and give him a grandchild,” the source said. The actress told Theroux that he can’t complain, since he spends most of his time working in New York City.

Plotting the future

An entrepreneur in China has installed headstones in his new graveyard engraved with the names of still-living people from a nearby village—without their consent. The bold idea is a success: Plots in the cemetery are briskly selling for up to $16,000. “The more affluent Chinese people become in this life,” one local resident explained, “the more they are concerned with their final resting place on their journey into the next one.”
