Show of the week: The Cheshire Murders
This chilling documentary reconstructs the Cheshire murders and examines how they might have been prevented.
It was a crime that shocked the nation. In the early-morning hours of July 23, 2007, two ex-convicts entered the home of a sleeping family in Cheshire, Conn, and across the next seven hours subjected them to an ordeal culminating in a rape, the sexual assault of an 11-year-old, the home’s torching, and the deaths of all three female victims. This chilling documentary reconstructs the horror and examines how it might have been prevented. Evidence suggests that the worst of the crimes were committed while police sat outside the house. Monday, July 22, at 9 p.m., HBO
