Paris Jackson; Prince Harry; Naomi Campbell

A judge has ordered an investigation into the welfare of Paris Jackson, after the 15-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson attempted suicide last week. The teenager slit her wrist with a kitchen knife and swallowed about 20 ibuprofen painkillers at her home in Calabasas, Calif. She was rushed to the hospital in Los Angeles, where she remained under psychiatric evaluation this week. When paramedics arrived, Paris said, “I wish my daddy was here.’’ Jackson has been under the custody of her grandmother Katherine since her father died in 2009. But a probate judge named Michael’s nephew TJ Jackson a co-guardian last summer, after the 83-year-old matriarch went AWOL for 10 days. That same judge ordered an investigation into Paris’s “health, education, and welfare” this week. “[Katherine’s] not really capable of giving Paris all the support she needs,” a source told People.com.

A gay British soldier has revealed that Prince Harry, then a troop commander in the British army, confronted a gang of soldiers intent on beating him up. James Wharton was a member of the prince’s troop when six soldiers from a rival regiment threatened to “batter” him for being gay. When Wharton told the prince what had happened, Harry gave his tormentors a royal dressing down, telling them they’d face severe discipline. “I will always be grateful to Harry,’’ said Wharton, who described the 2008 incident in his new memoir about being gay in the military.
