Billy McNeely's chronic back pain
A Canadian man was scratching his back when he noticed a pointy protrusion. It turned out to be a 3-inch knife blade that was buried in his flesh three years earlier. Billy McNeely, 32, said he’d often complained to doctors about chronic back pain after he was stabbed in a 2010 brawl, but physicians told him it was just nerve damage. “I’m kind of upset,” said McNeely, who had the blade dug out last week. “They should’ve X-rayed right off the beginning.”

The producers of TV’s Mad Men have ordered Jon Hamm to keep his privates more private, said the New York Daily News. The actor has a habit of going commando on set, which has caused problems during filming of the show’s latest season. “The pants are very tight and leave little to the imagination,” says a source. “Jon’s impressive anatomy is so distracting that they politely insisted on underwear.” The show’s marketing team has had to Photoshop promotional images of Hamm to make them more family-friendly. “Imagine how distracting that would be on the side of a bus or building,” said the source.
Texas woman loses battle with snake
A Texas woman ended up burning down her home in a heated battle with a snake. When the Texarkana resident spotted the serpent in her garden, she doused it with gasoline and set it ablaze. The flaming snake slithered into a nearby brush pile, igniting it and the house in a conflagration that quickly spread, eventually damaging a neighboring home as well. “We were trying to kill a snake with fire,” the woman said in a frantic 911 call. “It done caught the house.”
