Good week for:
Michael Phelps, after the American swimmer became the most decorated Olympian of all time by winning his 19th medal at the London Olympic Games. Over three Games, Phelps has won 15 golds, two silvers, and two bronzes.
The U.S. women’s gymnastics team, which was so dominant on its way to winning a gold medal that many experts said it was the best team gymnastics performance ever. “They’re just so far ahead of anyone else,” British gymnast Rebecca Tunney said.

Reinventing yourself, after hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg had a spiritual awakening in Jamaica, and announced that he was now a Rastafarian reggae artist named Snoop Lion. “I just didn’t have my third eye open, but it’s wide open right now,” said Lion.
Bad week for:
The Olympic flame, after technicians extinguished the flame in order to move it to another part of the stadium. According to Olympic tradition, the flame is supposed to remain lit for the entirety of the Games.
Olympic fever, after a Londoner vacationing in France decided to attempt to swim to New York City, saying he was off to “carry the Olympic spirit across the Atlantic.” He had to be rescued by lifeguards about 300 yards into his 3,600-mile journey.

Yelling at your f---ing computer, after a survey by CareerBuilder.com found that 57 percent of employers said they’d be less likely to promote someone who curses, and 64 percent think less of an employee who habitually swears.
