Chris O’Donnell and LL Cool J of NCIS: Los Angeles guest-star, linking two of CBS’s livelier police dramas in a sweeps-month stunt. The premise behind the crossover: A suspect is threatening to release a deadly virus on Hawaii’s population. Alex O’Loughlin and Scott Caan lead the Five-0 cast in a two-part story that concludes the next night in their peers’ time slot. Monday, April 30, at 10 p.m., and Tuesday, May 1, at 9 p.m., CBS
American Experience: Jesse Owens
After Jesse Owens bested German rival Luz Long in the long jump at the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, the two linked arms in a victory lap. The moment was remarkable because Hitler had intended the games to showcase Aryan superiority, and because the African-American Owens was on his way to winning four golds. In this absorbing documentary, track is the great equalizer. Tuesday, May 1, at 8 p.m., PBS; check local listings
