New Jersey renters sue over haunted house
A New Jersey couple are suing their landlord, claiming their rented house is haunted. Josue Chinchilla and Michele Callan say they and their children have heard slamming doors, disembodied whispering, and the sound of someone…or something…moving around in the basement. The landlord says they are just trying to get out of their lease, but Chinchilla says the house is so terrifying that “they should just burn it down.”

Weston, Fla., has outlawed dance halls, nightclubs, and skating rinks, even though it has none. Mayor Eric Hersh said a rise in nightlife-related crime throughout South Florida had convinced officials to adopt the pre-emptive ban. “This is something that we thought would protect the city,” Hersh said.
