Show of the week: Mad Men
This brooding drama continues to be one of television’s most distinctive and thoughtful offerings.
It’s been nearly a year and a half since Season 4 of Mad Men ended, and time has moved on in the series’s dream-like version of the 1960s as well: Enigmatic ad man Don Draper has turned 40, and a surprise party is in store for a man who hates surprises. The world outside the offices of his struggling Manhattan ad agency, meanwhile, is weathering cultural turmoil that mirrors his colleagues’ personal storms. With Jon Hamm leading the cast, this brooding drama continues to be one of television’s most distinctive and thoughtful offerings. Sunday, March 25, at 9 p.m., AMC
