Herman Cain’s other woman

For Ginger White, the affair with Cain provided romance and financial support.

Ginger White feels used, said Leslie Bennetts in TheDailyBeast.com. The Atlanta single mother recently alleged that she’d had a 13-year affair with Herman Cain—a revelation that derailed his floundering campaign for the Republican presidential nomination. When White, 46, first met Cain in the late 1990s, she was impressed by his confidence. “I was amazed at how a person could just come up to you at a cocktail party, and an hour and a half later he wanted me to follow him to his hotel to plan our first trip to Palm Springs,” she says. For her, the relationship provided not only romantic getaways but financial support.

She always knew it was headed nowhere. “Herman helped me out because it meant I could be there if he ever needed another fling. One time we were having sex, and I was looking up at the ceiling, thinking, ‘What am I going to buy at the grocery store tomorrow?’” Their relationship ended this spring, when Cain—who has been married for 43 years—told White that he was running for president. “I said, ‘I guess we won’t be friends anymore.’ He said, ‘No, I don’t think so.’ It confirmed what I already felt. It wasn’t a love affair. It wasn’t even a friendship really.”
