Giffords and her husband, space shuttle commander Mark Kelly, will talk about the Jan. 8 shootings in Tucson that killed six people and left Giffords in critical condition. The erstwhile poet long ago dedicated himself to such causes as aiding underprivileged children and providing health care to the world’s poor. The language of the Wampanoag, the Massachusetts tribe that met 17th-century English settlers at Plymouth, was considered long lost when Cape Cod resident Jessie Little Doe had a dream in the early 1990s about her ancestors returning. This film follows her quest to accomplish an unprecedented feat: reviving a Native American language whose last native speaker had died generations ago.
