Sting’s kinky marriage
The singer’s 18-year marriage to film producer Trudie Styler is an anomaly in the celebrity world, especially since they’ve been together for nearly 30 years.
Sting says there’s no mystery about why his marriage works, said Laura Brown in Harper’s Bazaar. It’s the sex. “We like tawdry,’’ the musician says. “I don’t think pedestrian sex is very interesting. There’s a playfulness we have; I like the theater of sex. I like her to dress up.’’
The 59-year-old singer’s 18-year marriage to film producer Trudie Styler, 57, is an anomaly in the celebrity world, especially since they’ve been together for nearly 30 years and have six children (including two from Sting’s previous marriage). The fact that they stay incredibly fit because of yoga helps. So does his frequent absences because of touring. “Being apart juices the relationship,’’ he says. “We don’t get bored.’’ In fact, he says, they can’t wait to see each other.
“Relationships aren’t easy, and I don’t think they’re particularly natural, but we’re lucky because we actually like each other. We love each other—that’s a given—but Trudie lights my world up when she comes into a room. I don’t take her for granted. I could lose her. He’d have to be very rich and very handsome, but...”
