Kevin Whately returns as Inspector Lewis, partner of the late and much-beloved Inspector Morse, in new weekly whodunits set in Oxford, England. The first, “And the Moonbeams Kiss the Sea,” features an intriguing plot that involves forged manuscripts, a photographic memory, probability theory, and Percy Bysshe Shelley. The second, “Music to Die For,” works in amateur boxing, a romantic triangle, and a possible love interest for Lewis. Clever scripts, strong performances, and atmospheric locations mark all seven of the series’ mysteries. Sundays, Aug. 30 and Sept. 6, 9 p.m., PBS; check local listings
