Thou shalt not speed
The week's news at a glance.
Vatican City
The Vatican this week issued “Ten Commandments for Drivers,” saying driving had become such an important part of life that Catholics required guidance on the subject. “Guidelines for Pastoral Care of the Road” orders drivers to respond to aggression with “courtesy, uprightness, and prudence” rather than road rage. “The road shall be for you a means of communion between people and not of mortal harm,” one commandment reads. “Cars shall not be for you an expression of power and domination, and an occasion of sin,” says another. Catholic drivers are also expected to help accident victims and forgive those who rear-end them.
