Berlusconi gets off again

An Italian appeals court has upheld the acquittal of former Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi on bribery charges. Berlusconi, Italy’s richest man, was accused of bribing judges to keep a business rival out of a lucrative deal. It’s the eighth trial—on charges including corruption and tax fraud—that the flamboyant Berlusconi has won. “It was time for justice to be done,” Berlusconi said. “I have been waiting for 12 years for this moment. I had had enough of it.” The media magnate has long claimed that “communist” judges in Milan are out to get him because he is wealthy.
